Garlic cannot be mistaken, because of its unpleasant smell. It is found to be very rich in sugars, proteins, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iodine, silicone, vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B3, sulphur compounds, and oil soluble nutrients.

Garlic has many health benefits and majority of these are due to the constituent- allicin.

This allicin is what seems to make garlic work for certain conditions. Allicin also makes garlic smell.

You will notice that some products are made “odourless” by aging the garlic, but this process can also make the garlic less effective.

It’s also important to look for supplements that are coated (enteric coating) so they will dissolve in the intestine and not in the stomach.

  5. Taking Garlic prevents the blockage of gastric pancreatic and intestinal juices which are responsible for digesting the nutrients. It also helps to promote, relax and tone the digestive system.

  6. Garlic can aid in the prevention of multiple types of cancer. Bladder cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer and stomach cancer have all been shown to have their tumors reduced when treated with garlic.

  7. Garlic has decongestant properties, providing relief from congestion and heaviness of the chest which may result from harmful, infectious secretion of bronchial tubes. In addition, it helps to prevent head colds and flu.

  9. Garlic has diuretic properties, meaning it facilitates the removal of fluids from the body in form of urine which is helpful in lowering blood pressure. This action is due to its essential oils and its low molecular weight sugars.
