Cob Building Workshop at The Garden of Eden
We had a blast playing in the mud today in our Cob Building Workshop!
We showed our attendees how to build with cob in this hands on event!
Cob is a mixture of sand, straw, clay, and water. It is an ancient, sustainable technology that can be used to build things from houses to fountains to stoves, and much more!
We collected these resources from the land, and even harvested materials from an old cob oven that had collapsed.
Then we mixed it up to create and repair our fire-burning rocket stoves.
Everyone had a great time learning this valuable survival skill and playing in the mud on this beautiful day!

How neat is that? A completely sustainable resource, and recyclable too. Gotta admit, being new to this space, I always thought cob building was with corn cobs. Glad that's not the case, as you'd get really tired of eating corn if you had enough to make a house.

I so love playing with cob. What a blessing that the earth gives us what we need to provide for ourselves. An incredible skill to have, and so much fun in the making---and rewarded by something truly useable and valuable to end it all!
