Cupuacu tree flowering.
Cupuacu (theobroma grandiflorum)is a little known relative to chocolate. It is used more for its sweet pulp than its seed. Inside of a chocolate pod here is mostly seed and usually he pulp is discarded during processing, even though the taste is wonderful. Inside of a cupuacu pod there is mostly pulp and it is used in South America to make drinks. I haven't had a flower set to fruit yet because my tree is still young but I am eager to taste the pulp because I already know what chocolate pulp taste like. I'll post when I do get a fruit.
