Volunteer work about children

Refugee children learn about farming during a field trip in D'Kandang Amazing Farm in Depok, West Java. In D'Kandang, the children took a tour around the farm, learned about animals, and got hands-on experience with feeding, petting, and caring for the animals. This "edu-tainment activity" was organized by UNHCR's partner and Indonesian philanthropic organization Dompet Dhuafa as part of its program to support education for refugees.

Sila (not her real name) jumps between her friends' hands while playing Indonesian traditional game "lompat tangan" with local children after school in Makassar, South Sulawesi. She has been welcomed to study at a public elementary school in the city where she receives a basic education, develops self-confidence, as well as improves her Bahasa Indonesia. As part to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Indonesia gives access to primary schools for refugee children.
