Well, the seeds were free, and were packaged by somebody who did a library presentation, so maybe they aren't broccoli plants at all! Yes, I agree, storeboughten tomatoes taste very bland.
@scribblingramma Have you ever grown brussel sprouts? They grow where the leave meets the stock. I have never seen broccoli that big without a head. But anything can happen.
I think I grew brussels sprouts once, long ago. I don't really remember.
