Hi! The rocks are there for many reasons. 1: They use the rocks pulled up from the earth to create the beds. 2: They create habitat for geckos, spiders and lizards that will help keep the bugs in check. 3: I added organic matter under the soil and the rocks will prevent erosion and runoff while the new plants take root. 4: They look good :) Hope this helps!
