Reading your posts on this sounds so familiar! I also went through the same learning curve for the same reasons. You think there's soil, so a plant can grow in it, but it's not that simple! Well it was back in England, but not in South Australia! 😆

Yep exactly! I remembered back to planting corn and beans as a kid and no problem! But not every two soils are the same... in this case it was industrial clay with the topsoil removed in suburbia. I had no clue at the time.
