Zuchinni! Part of the squash fam jam. Most common zucks are light geen or as you can see, darker green in color ... although you can also get a variety called the golden zuchinni, where they are different versions of a yellow color! Making your summer bbqing not only delicious, but gorgeous as well!

Spaghetti Squash! My absolute FAV! discovered this little guy myself like 2 years ago.. used it as an alternative to spaghetti noodles to make... spaghetti and meat sauce.. and it was sooooo good! A great alternative if your looking to cut out those nasty carbs and feel great about eating spaghetti without feeling the need to take a 72 hour nap afterwards.. we have about 5 of these babies growing!

^^^^ THIS one has a mind of its own, its actually part of our garden in winnipeg, he was growing up the window so we put him on the pergola instead, wild how plants grow so fast so quickly in the heat with lots of love!

This one here is our "mystery squash" ! We have no idea if its spaghetti, zuchinni or a pumpkin! I guess we shall find out soon! The leaves all look a bit the same when they are 1st growing. We are pretty big on compost, so either its from that or the wind carried over some seeds! TIME WILL TELL YOUNG GRASSHOPPER!!

Sunflowers! Of different varieties! Doesnt everyone (and the bees) love the summery look of sunflowers! No we dont use them for anything other then looking pretty, but they sure are a sight to see when in bloom! Apparantly, according to Wikipedia, the name "sunflower" gets it's name from the flowers head shape resembling the sun! Which is hella cute! Cant wait to see these babies bloom bloom bloom.

Here we have beans. Beans, beans, the magical beans! Just kidding they arent magical.. but they're purple! Tee-hee! Beans arent my fav. But they are a good vegetable for pickling if that's your thing! (Tune in again in a couple month when i do a post on pickling beans && making apple sauce and wine from homegrown grapes!)

So there we have it! Just a few of our
Favorite vegetables and of course the lovely sunflowers to go with the garden! As mentioned above, please stay tuned, follow me... as i will be uploading lots more posts in the next couple months including: how to go about pickling beans, how go make your own wine from homegrown small vineyard, a road trip travelling 2 provinces over with a 5 month old, a tour of my flowers in the yard and a final update of my grown garden, in full bloom with the loads of veggies it will bring me! These are just a few to name..

As always,
XOXO, MM
