Time after time we hear about a predator getting to someones chickens. A hole in the wall was found and exploited to gain access and chickens died. Or a snake got into the coop and was found in an egg box. (By the way, having Guineas in your flock will keep snakes away...AND TICKS!)
You must think of your chicken or turkey coop like a fortress or a castle that is constantly under bombardment and siege from the enemy. Then build your coop with that in mind. Your chickens will thank you!
