THE HARVEST BEGINS!!!
Who wants fresh picked Strawberries?
Besides the Strawberry plants that we recently received as a gift from one of our neighbors, we also had a few ever-bearing Strawberry plants already. Some types of Strawberries are june-bearing Strawberry plants. That type will bear Strawberries once, in June, or around there. The plants will flower and fruit, and then have to wait for the next year before they produce again.
Ever-bearing Strawberry plants flower and bear fruit for the entire growing season, and ours have started already. Just look at how seriously Monster Truck the Pepper takes his Strawberries.
Yes, just like many other kinds of food that we grow, Strawberries are a very serious business around the @papa-pepper homestead. Just kidding!
While some plants here are still being planted, others are already producing. Here's to a long growing season and a bountiful harvest! Steem on!

Here in Wisconsin we are at least a month away from strawberries. Time for Grandpa to put out his "rock strawberries" to fool the birds and give them a headache. Maybe then they will leave the real ones alone once they appear. Grandma's flower beds are beautiful with purple, pink, white and blue clusters of pholx. We love you!

We had 'never-bearing' strawberry plants when I was growing up.
Whenever I checked for berries to eat, there were none.
But my sisters seemed to be able to find some.
Why do you think that is?
So gobble up the strawberries while you can Monster Truck The Pepper, and enjoy them. May your cheeks glow red from all the goodness they contain.
Never bearing are the worst kind!
One grand daughter only lets them get a little colour before they dissapear. Strangly the look of total innocence would appear as soon as any questions were asked.
