Ours grow in heavy shade and only fruit in the warm weather. However, once the plant does fruit it does so for a long time, even into the colder months.
Ours took 2 years before fruiting and this is their third. I do know some folks who had success straight away
Isn't it often this way?! That the ones we didn't plant are the most vigorous! Lol! Our butternut squash in the compost pile this year outdid all the others.
I've had a couple of goji berry bushes for several years now but never managed to get any berries on them yet.
I'm in wet and windy Wales though. I guess they might need more sun.
