STEEMIT AND THE LEGEND OF MOBY DICK

in #gardening7 years ago

Hi dear steemians a virtual hug for all. I have spent the last few days reading and voting within our network and very little or almost nothing to write. But I think doing it has been worth it; because reading is a way to access knowledge because within it very good posts are produced. With respect to voting, it is a fundamental action within steemit because it is the way that this platform is undermined and given dynamism. On the other hand, with these actions I could reflect and appreciate as the saying "Where the shots go".

This is how I came to the term "Whale", with which I was already familiar because within steemit this word is very respected, admired and at the same time envied by a large number of members. With this self-imposed recess, I have found that within the network there are many articles where they are named, stumbling upon several titles with that reference, in some of them the whales are recognized and valued, in others they are blamed and branded selfish . Anyway, I've noticed that in many cases this social network is a great sea full of whales and cetaceans, because we are many who are after the hunt for these whales.

In this sense, it is pertinent to refer to that great masterpiece of universal literature called Moby Dick by the novelist, poet and essayist Herman Melville, a work of profound symbolism where the central theme is the hunting of a very particular sperm whale; but also within it refers to subjects as diverse as biology, idealism, hierarchy, obsession, politics, pragmatism, racism, religion and revenge.

It will be chance, but it is undeniable that there is an ocean of coincidences and parallelisms between the book we are talking about and our big house, which have a lot in common, since both are points from which a variety of meanings and meanings are projected. To the work cited all those senses were given by its author and this social network we grant it with the great variety of post that we produce in the different topics that steemit has for such purposes.

And to top it off in both, the great protagonists are the whales, will it be that those who created this network are fans of this issue of literature or at least they are attracted to everything that has to do with marine issues and the art of navigation?

As a final message, I believe that all the members of this community are important, so we must support ourselves and rely more on steemit, producing quality posts, as well as making our eight or ten votes a day, so that this network grows and strengthens. And if we run with luck and a whale votes us; invest part of what we earn in steemit so that our voting power grows and thus help others by voting their posts and because not also ourselves.

Let us not let the story of Herman Melville happen to us, where ambition on the one hand, apathy or pettiness will end up sinking the boats, boats and canoes that sail on this great sea. And because we are not reliable and loyal to this platform, we let the whales go to other oceans or when they do not support us, they immerse us in oblivion.
