Our Sparrow Family

Today is one of those beautiful winter days. Mixed sun and cloud, no wind, -15C so crisp but not too cold. This morning was the end of a snowfall that lasted the past 30 hours. We were left with 25cm of fresh snow. All the birds used the break in the snow to come out to all the feeders again.

We have a family of about 40-50 sparrows that live in my yard year round. They have 5 different feeders and 15 or so birdhouses they spread their time between. We also leave a heated dog bowl full of water out on the deck for them as a bird bath that doesn't freeze.

We also get lots of blue jays, magpies, wood peckers, flickers, and a bunch of song birds. I am going to try to shoot more videos of them.
