I have to correct your otherwise awesome post! It's soil. Dirt is what we clean off the floors. Soil is what we grow plants in. Sorry, the dirt thing drives me nuts. Like cement and concrete. ;D
We use all raised beds and pots too, it's the best way to grow things. Less water, less weeds, less work and yes, soil conservation. 1000 is ambitious as hell, I salute you!
And wow, you look like Johnny Depp...
