What's up, Steemians & Farmers.

I am more than happy to start the chili season 2018. I spend so many days on planning and preparation that it is great to start now. 😊 It will be great to have fresh chilies and tomatoes at summer time.

As my grow box is ready and checked (see last post). I can now start to put the seeds into the soil.

One day before I plant the chilies I put the seeds into camomile tea. This helps to increase the germination time and kills bacteria and mold. I keep them at maximum 24 hours in it.
As you see my very precise with labeling and keeping the seeds separate. I want to stick to my plans and therefore I would like to know where everything is located. This is done with the labels and with the help of my great excel file. &#128077.

The day after the camomile tea bath I started with hydration on the coconut soil. I added 4,5 litre of water into a bucket and added one brick coconut soil. This should be enough soil for the first round. The chillies will go into very small containers, which do not require so much soil. After 20 minutes and some mixing you have great soil.

I am very careful with each kind of chillies and do one after each other. I want to avoid mixing them accidentally. The seeds are covered with a small layer of soil in each container. I plant usually more seeds than I need. This redundancy is required to ensure that I reach the final amounts I have planned. The germination rate is always above 90%, but you never know.

Finally. It looks like this:

The temperature in the grow box is 28°C. Light is not required right now. The fans run three times a day for 2 minutes.

I keep you posted on the progress after the first plants grow. This is around 5-8 days.

Greetings to every chilli farmer on Steemit.

I started some seeds today as well. I did some melons and toms. I'm so excited for Spring.

Me, too. Great that you do it the same way. Happy farming. ;-)
