Step 3 Setting up a Mittleider Organic garden Making your ridges

You make your ridges about 6 inches high so they run along the length of the strings you tied.  By making the ridges you are keeping the water and the weekly feed ie nutrients where they belong.  As you can see the soil beds themselves are raised about 4-6 inches in comparison to the isles.  This allows for proper drainage of your garden.
