Watching Grass Grow
Another rainy day, and I have the day off. So besides my errands to catch up on, I am content to just watching the grass grow between the blue stones of our new walkway. I threw down grass seed about a week ago, and barely visible are 1/16th inch grass blades. I can hardly wait for the little seedlings to catch up to the grass beyond when I can post the 'after' pic!

That's neat. I've been pondering something similar in part of our backyard. Right now, it's a scraggly lawn that I don't water enough in the summer, since we have had a drought. I'm thinking of putting down some stones over sand like you did and maybe filling in the cracks with some potting soil + drought resistant plants that can handle heat, maybe creeping thyme or wooly thyme. Did you just put your rocks in the sand/soil or use any cement underneath? It looks like you got them fairly level. I have kids and a dog who run all over the yard, so I'd probably need to use some stones that are thick and heavy enough that they won't move much.
Stones laid over stone dust is definitely the most stable. I had the idea of a nice transition from path to yard, so I went with grass in-between the bluestone. We ditched the stone dust because we wanted to get the grass to really take hold knowing that once it does, it will hold the stones in place firmly. We pounded the heck out of the stones with a rubber mallet to get them level and firmly in the topsoil.
I think your idea of stonedust and then stones and filling in the cracks with creeping thyme is a nice one - the thyme loves hot and dry.
Here is another look I really like:

The things people come up with to be able to earn some steem... hilarious! :')
