Purple Happiness is back!

I didn't show any orchids in a while. That is because nothing was blooming. Until about two weeks ago this one started to open the buds.	Nie pokazywałam żadnych storczyków przez jakiś czas. To dlatego, że żaden ostatnio nie zakwitł. Kilka tygodni temu ten zaczął kwitnąć.

Dendrobium Phalaenopsis Purple Happiness

For a very long time Dendrobiums were my favourite orchids. The ones you can easily get in the supermarkets (Nobile and Phalaenopsis type) are super easy to grow and they bloom beautifully. Later I got interested in more fancy types, but those don’t seem to like me much (they are just more demanding and I don't have proper conditions for them), so after killing few nice and not so cheap ones I gave up on those.

Przez bardzo długi czas Dendrobium były moimi ulubionymi storczykami. Te ogólnie dostępne w marketach (głównie Nobile i Phalaenopsis) są super łatwe w uprawie i przepięknie kwitną. Później zainteresowałam się innymi, ale to chyba mnie nie lubią (te są zazwyczaj bardziej wymagające, a ja nie mam dla nich odpowiednich warunków), więc jak juz utrupiłam kilka bardzo ładnych i nie tanich roślin, dałam sobie z nimi spokój.

This is the first time this one grew two flower spikes full of blooms. There is no fragrance, but the colour is so pretty I don’t mind. And it will look this lovely for the next few weeks. Then it will start growing another cane and the cycle starts again.	Ten po raz pierwszy wypuścił dwa pędy pełne kwiatów. Zapachu brak, ale kolor jest tak przepiękny, że pachnieć nie musi. W dodatku będzie tak wyglądał jeszcze przez kilka kolejnych tygodni. Potem zacznie produkować kolejną łodygę i wszystko zacznie się od nowa.

What I also like about them, is that they are very forgiving! I often forget to water them on time, then later I just soak them on water for a few hours and all goes back to normal. He also handles my very high and low temperatures… Just awesome!	Co mi się jeszcze w nich podoba, to to, że są niesamowicie wytrzymałe! Często zapominam podlać, potem wystarczy namoczyć go przez kilka godzin i wszystko wraca do normy. Nie przeszkadzają mu również bardzo wysokie i niskie temperatury jakie u mnie panują… No miodzio!

The only thing he struggles with thrips. But usually I have those under control. If I had more room I would get some other colours. They are pretty cool :)	Jedyne z czym czasami się boryka to wciornastki. Ale to też zazwyczaj mam pod kontrolą. Gdybym miała miejsce, to sprawiłabym sobie jeszcze inne kolory. Fajne są :)
