All of the tomato and basil clones got their roots started in the indoor hydroponic system. Just cutting suckers and sticking them in the water with an air pump, using 60 watt t5 light. It’s usually 5-7 days till they start roots, then another 5-7 until I transplant into the small containers with soil mixture.
While doing testing with different size cuttings, you definitely get much faster root growth by cutting smaller clones with less branches and leaves. When you cut a large sucker, the plant spends too much energy trying to keep the plant alive instead of growing roots.
I just planted tons of onions last night, some in pots to start and some in the garden beds. I’m going to start experimenting with bulbs like onions in hydroponics systems.
I paid $10 on Amazon for 100 pack of 4 inch pots. I have filled 25 so far.
