Garden 2019 - Weekly Update #16 : Life's a Beach!

in #gardening5 years ago

A look at my garden progress.

Not everything happens in the garden. We decided to take a quick trip to the beach to enjoy our favorite spot. It was a beautiful day for a get away, but when I got back, I noticed some things in the garden that I'll have to eventually take care of.

After I created the video and uploaded, I went out and picked the cucumber. Sliced it up and gave a few slices to the kids. It probably could have stayed on the vine a little longer. I'm looking forward to eating more of them.

Hey @deanlogic ... you should definitely be sharing your videos (especially gardening, camping, DIY, Food) over on HideoutTV.... I signed up as a Creator on Hideout.tv to share my videos and earned $109 in the 1st month ... that’s $150 Canadian.
I’m also earning $50 a month from YouTube so $200 per month simply posting my short videos online,

If you are making videos you should definitely post to HideoutTV.... https://hideout.tv/viewerSignup.php?refer=100525

They are looking for Food, DIY and funny videos to Feature on their Network.

People get paid in Bitcoin for watching your Hideout videos so they get a lot of views.

Maybe Steemit.com should set up a Steemit Hideout.TV Channel ???? Any extra income would boost the price of Steem.

I guess it couldn't hurt. I'm not making any money off of my videos now.

Yeah ... you can’t monetize YouTube until you hit 1,000 subscribers. HideoutTV is just looking for good DIY, Food, and funny videos at the moment. If they feature one of your videos it could easily get 1 Million views in a few days.

Before saying anything related to the post, let me say first that the kids are so cute and lovely and sending my love from a far away places to them.

The video really feel as homely..just like any other neighbor hood...The strawberry looks organic even from its look....Hahah but the cucumber is just enough for the salad it looks from the length...

Nice to go through and meet you over here...

Cheers

Yes, the kids are cute, but they make it hard for me to concentrate on what I am going to say, so I usually try to keep them out of frame. LOL

While I use soil bought in a bag, the only amendments I have added are worm castings that I won from talk on vermiculture. So, organic, but not "certified". The cucumber was big enough for a quick snack for the family. I can't wait for the others to start being big enough to pick. I like cucumbers and vinegar, usually with pepper. I might try vinegar and sugar. I doubt they will still be producing by the time the tomatoes start.

Thanks for the comments.

Kids are usually naughty, especially the current generation. If we dont handle with care life will become very difficult from at the very baby stage life would probably becomes very hard.

This farming soil is usually known as grow bags, is it? In our place agricultural dept sells it and now a days people can farm in their terraces too.

I can understand that the difficulty in using the term organic. In our country there is some special regulation that the central government recently laid. We can use pesticide free but not organic.

Incidentally, just two weeks back I started a business venture related to this, in fact it is supply of organic vegetable in an organized way. Will write later in detail.

Good to know that you have different types of vegetables in the backyard. Is it seasonal?

Nice to meet you over here, Looking forward to more such productive interaction...
Have a nice day and cheers

Is it seasonal?

Yes. While I have indoor grow lights, I haven't created a space to attempt to grow year-round.

Yes, just your basic big box store that sells soil in bags. What I buy most is supposedly sourced locally. I would like to get away from buying the bags and make mine own or getting mulch and compost from the city. But, that's just another project that I haven't got around to doing.

My kids just like having fun with the camera is on. Nothing bad, just distracting. I meant to talk about something else in the box, but I forgot it while I was distracted by my adorable daughter. Hopefully, I'll remember next week.

Good luck on your write-up!

Thanks for the reply and good to know you are trying your own methods of farming....

Regarding kids, my intention was never to say something in a negative sense, instead I was telling the current generation kids are much much far ahead than what we were at their age. They are super smart that we cant bluff them and they learn thing very quickly and at very baby stage.

What is his/her name? And how old?

Have a good day

No problem. I didn't think you were being negative.

My kids are 5/6 going on 15/16.

Thanks for understanding and happy to meet you over here...
