It was first introduced in the early 1990s and is a hybrid with the original species native to South America. The Cabaret is well branched with full centres with an abundance of bright blooms which attracts bees, butterflies and humming birds.

The Calibrachoa is a perennial but can be grown as an annual in colder climates. These miniature flowers look like they're cut from velvet and comes in a cabaret of colours in deep yellow, bright red, pure white, blue, violet, magenta and pink and is a prolific bloomer from spring till autumn.

They are heat lovers and thrives in full sun, are fast growers reaching a height of 25cm and a spread of 30cm. It is very versatile but needs well-drained moist soil with a low pH. Do not over water and fertilize once a month. Pinch your Calibrachoa back regularly to encourage a more compact growth habit.

It can grow from cuttings and seeds. The cuttings you can take at the beginning of winter, look for a stem of about 6cm with small buds only, place the cutting in a mixture of half potting soil and peat moss, water it well, keep it warm and place in bright light. Roots will take a few weeks to develop.

HAPPY GARDENING!!

Lovely colorful flowers in the nice spring days. I love the first photo, they look lovely together. Enjoy your weekend :)

When bees see that stuff they practically scream with delight. Well, not really. Not that they can't scream with delight, they've just been raised to consider such things impolite in public, so they keep it to themselves. They can fart though, when they're flying. They call it turbo boost.

These are such beautiful flowers! I think you can be a great photographer someday. Keep it up my friend. I would love to see more of these "flower" post in the future.

Those are very beautiful flowers especially the fact that they are of different colours . I am just imagining a hanging basket of those on my pouch...they would look heavenly:)

I like the colors of this flowers

So bright and colorful!
Love it! :)
