Autumn flowers from Brisbane, Australia.

Morning steemers,
Here in Brisbane we are back to work after the Labour Day long weekend, it was nice to have 3 days off in a row.
It's the beginning of Autumn and I must say that this and Spring are my favourite times of year!

Every year at the start of Auntmn the beautiful Golden Penda (Xanthostemon chrysanthus) pushes out masses of flowers, attracting Bees, Butterflies and Bees by the truck load. A very important plant in our area!

This is another important Autumn flowerer, the stunning Hibiscus tiliaceus grows along the more coastal sections of Brisbane like Nudgee Beach (Check out my previous post on the area.)

A nice 'Double Delight' Rose loving the slightly cooler weather.

This guy is known as the Pigeon Pea (Cajanus cajan) and not only is it nice to look at the seeds are edible. This plant is very popular in Permaculture circles and is a great addition to any edible landscape!

I hope you have enjoyed this small peak into our floral autumn here in Brisbane because there will be more to come :-)

Stay tuned!

Happy gardening,
Sam.

All looking good. This time of year is when the roses get black spot and lose all their leaves. Although oddly enough, they still make the occasional bloom

Wow, this is when our Roses start looking the best :-)
