For the beautifulness of herbs

Six months ago a local permaculture farm built a botanical herb garden out the front of my shop. The idea was to create a herb garden out in the community to raise awareness of herbs and their medicinal, culinary and general beautiful nature. The herbs took off this month with the warmer weather and came to flower.

It has been beautiful to watch these plants grow, wild and free with little to no intervention on my part. I particularly love the sprays of colour and absolutely gorgeous scents. It has been lovely to view these herbs in a different light to just a pure culinary plant. 

For those curious, this is the list of herbs that have been planted:-

• Pineapple Sage - Salvia elegans
• Angelica - Angelica archangelica
• Anise Hyssop -  Agastache foeniculum
• Arnica - Arnica montana
• Lemon Balm - Melissa officinalis
• Burdock – Arctium lappa (Takinogawa Long) (biennial)
• German Chamomile – Chamomilla recutita (annual)
• Roman Chamomile – Chamaemelum nobile (perennial)
• Great/Salad Burnet – Sanguisorba officinalis
• Hyssop – Hyssopus officinalis
• Mexican Marigold – Tagetes lemmonii
• Valerian – Valeriana officinalis
• Garlic Chives - Allium sp.
• Tuscan Rosemary - Rosmarinus officinalis 'Tuscan Blue'
• Thyme - Thymus sp. [3 varieties]
• Olive Herb - Santolina rosmarinifolia
• Fennel - Foeniculum vulgare
• Southernwood - Artemisia abrotanum
