Welcome back to the Brew City Garden. Today we inspect our straw bale garden after days and days of constant rain. We also finish up some new half barrel planters, pull some weeds and try out an AWESOME new garden tool! ( I love it )
I even try my hand at "garden fork bull riding".

Do you ever have problems with mice in your straw mulch? I used straw to mulch my potatoes a couple of years ago and the mice got in it and were eating some of the potatoes.

I have seen two mice in my garden but have only noticed a tiny bit damage on my tomatoes and some over ripe cantelope. Otherwise, they really aren't a problem. Lucky for me, there is a very large owl that lives in the giant spruce tree in the back yard. He keeps many of the rabbits and other rodents at bay.
Live rodent control is a good thing! LOL
