Cayenne Pepper Animal Repellent

I have found that Cayenne peppers are good for animal repellent.

  1. Let the Cayenne peppers dry out until you can easily crush them. You can hang a bunch of them together from a spice rack using string.
  2. Crush the dried Cayenne peppers as finely as you can. If you have problems with peppers you should use gloves for this since they are a spicier pepper.
  3. you can add it to water and spray it on the plants or just sprinkle it over the plants with no added water. 1tsp of Cayenne pepper for 1L of water. Depending on how determined the pest is you might need to make it stronger. If you sprinkle it on the plants make sure to wash it off before you eat the veggies and wash it off your hands after using it. You might also want to reapply the Cayenne after a down pour or every 2 weeks.

This is a great way to keep away any animals from your plants. Keep your pets and small children away from it as it can cause irritation to eyes and sensitive skin.
