Here's a picture of the peas that I'm growing in the greenhouse. This is one of my head start experiments.

The peas that I planted in the garden are about an inch tall right now, they finally came up a couple days ago. I wanted to see if I could get peas earlier this year in the greenhouse. It seems to be working.
Another experiment that I'm trying again this year is growing popcorn in the greenhouse. I tried it last year, 5 seeds came up of 6, and the plants were mature by the middle of July. I'm growing an heirloom variety called Tom Thumb. The plants only get about 3-4 feet tall, are an early variety, and have several small ears on each stalk. I also grew them last year outside and had a pretty good yield. Anyway, the corn I planted in a big pot in the greenhouse just started coming up yesterday.

That's my greenhouse update for today, hope you like it! :-)

Wow, congrats on your baby seedlings! I hope your harvest is plentiful.

I'd say it's working. Good thinking!

There is NOTHING like a fresh picked pea off the vine. Simply awesome.

Eat them quickly, though. Peas can convert half it's sugar to starch with one hour of picking. I find it's best to take them from the vine to the table immediately before a meal. If you must, you can plunge them into ice water to quick-chill them and store them in the refrigerator for a few hours without losing too much sugar content.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply and the information.
The first few pods that get big enough to pick don't make it into the house, I just pick them and eat them right there. :-)

beautiful pea plants!
