Review of Grafting

Grafting is a merger of two different parts of the plant so that it becomes a coherent whole and grown as a crop after tissue regeneration occurs at the scars on the joints. Grafting rootstocks and scions is usually done between the two varieties of plants that are still within the same species.

How to do

The figure below shows how to do the grafting of the cocoa crop. Plants that are less productive or low production plants connected to the high-producing scions and better quality. You need a small knife to cut and slice the rootstock and scions. And surely, you have to prepare a scions, that can grow rapidly, health and high-producing.

The Results

We can see the fruit-valve on the plant grafting results. This can be seen after several months of action grafting.

Plant already in production. Scions produce red fruit, while the rootstock is still producing green fruit. Two or three week forward is time to harvest. Is it an interesting plant?

We do a lot of grafting with @papa-pepper!

Nice work with your grafting! What kind of tree and fruit is this? We don't have any plant like this where I live, in the US Pacific Northwest. Does the red fruit taste better than the green fruit? Can you graft any time of the year? Or do you graft only at specific seasons? Thanks!
