Cabbage garden time, week 2. Proper drainage to fight against fungal disease!
This week the rains started coming down in full and I had to pay immediate attention to drainage. I hadn't expected the rains to come on so heavily so quickly but, such is nature. While water is good for plants, so too is proper aeration of the roots and soil, saturated soils are a serious threat to cabbage plants especially.
Because these are soft, sweet plants by nature, they tend to get attacked by a wide host of pests. to avoid having to use excessive fungicides, having properly drained soils can go a long way.
I'll keep you guys up to speed for the 7 week duration of this cabbage crop and many others, hope it's worth your watch. Have a good evening and keep Steeming!
Looking forward to seeing it grow!
