Compost heap in the making
Hello everyone from steemit!
Today I want to share some gardening tips and compost heap! How does compost add to your gardening you might ask?
Well that’s easy!
You work some of this fermented grass and leaves into your soil and it’s an eco friendly, superfood for your gardening needs!
Here I am watering my compost heap. Yes, watering it!
Why water fermenting garden waste you might ask me, well it’s really important to keep the compost wet, so that it doesn’t dry out and so that all those good bacteria can flourish underneath the South African sun.
Having a warm, damp compost heap is especially good for things like worms and can fertilize the eart with some direct Worm tea that everyone’s going on about.
Adding some wood especially helps that compost heap decay at a warm rate as it’s almost getting to winter here in South Africa.
I personally love recycling and gardening. Not only is my compost heap a greenhouse in its own with all the added goodies, but it fertilizes the ground it’s on! Double the goodness for one time the work.
I can’t waut to show you all the garden we are making out back. Growing your own vegetables? No problem with my diy compost heap!
Maybe next time I’ll blog all about how to make your own compost heap!
Until next time!
