Uprooting The Scarcity Of Human Hunger
"Food is an essential part of the vitality of life. If you can't work or do something, you can't eat anything."
Today, I and my auntie harvested a few cassava crops in the garden. We harvest them all to replace another plant, which is bittergourd and string beans. Since commodities here in the Philippines are much more costly, we tend to plant some vegetables and spices to save our budget and also to ensure that there isn't any chemical use.
"We love organic. Everything we fertilize comes from cow dung and chicken poop".
Cassava has some benefits that are really good for our daily dietary consumption. It is a source of fiber as well as vitamin C, thiamin, folic acid, manganese, and potassium. But be careful because cassava has cyanide, and if you eat it raw, it can cause toxicity.
But before that, we need to wash and peel our cassava. Because it is good and healthy to eat clean food, we will steam this one and put a little pinch of sugar on top of it.
Then we can serve this one to our family and loved ones..
