What Makes Gardens Interesting is Fish Ponds!

in #garden6 years ago

Hello Friends,

Here I am Lucia again trying to find a good and virtuous topic to inscribe and share on my blog.

So the topic for today is "Fish Ponds".

Every place where my family has lived has been equipped with a fish pond in the garden. These were usually dug by me or by the children and gave us all great pleasure. The most important thing is that they provide atmosphere and water for wildlife. Some of the ponds we had were full of fish, as well as tadpoles and frogs. Lying in bed at night listening to the calls of the frog was relaxing.

During the days, especially during the summer, water is essential for insects and birds, which they visit frequently. It is much more important to provide beverages than food, as they will always find their own source of nutrition and should not depend on humans.

Bees, butterflies, moths and other insects benefit from a pond. Keeping them stocked with fish is essential to keep the mosquito population low. A pump increases interest and keeps it oxygenated.

There are also beautiful water plants that can be grown in and around the property. Some can be in pots or be planted directly in the bank if it is a natural spring. Most ponds, however, are lines with plastic, rubber or clay and planting in those materials is not a good idea.

My ponds are usually formed into mounds at the sides making them look deeper than they are. Beautiful Water Irises bloom during the summer and make a great show. Hebe and other flowering shrubs bring bees and wasps and all drink from the facility.

Another great benefit for the garden is the humidity offered by a pond. This allows special plants, such as ferns, to lodge around the edges and moss can even be encouraged to decorate strategically located rocks.

For me, no garden is complete unless there is at least one water feature in it. At one time my gardens had about six scattered ponds. The conclusion is that they are such a good asset that they improve the appearance of the gardens, which is a shame not to include them.

Yeah! No doubt about a pond being a good asset and adds it own value to a garden. I dont detest those facts, my own is when the pond water is to be changed in most cases i have seen they actually do pollute the environment. If am wrong then tell me how its done environmental wise

Those fishes are so cute..... Love their colours
