Spring Joy

Not much more brings me the kind of joy that I feel when I see the food forest waking up from its slumber. Each precious flower, the bees buzzing, the green leaves unfolding, seedlings emerging from the soil....it's all so wonderful.

Dragonflies come out from hiding, butterflies unroll their wings, birds sing and the air smells sweet.

Kaliah jumps in puddles of spring rain. Kevlar rolls in the mud. ...well that part isn't so fun. Haha! I guess we are giving him an unplanned bath. Yep, a 90 lb long hair German Shephard...who spreads his legs wide laying flat on the ground if he even gets close to the bathroom door. Fun stuff. Haha.

But what's more important is knowing that delicious and nutritious foods are growing right in our back yard.

Knowing I can feed my family healthful foods, knowing how they grew and where they came from are all so important to me. What is also important to me is inspiring others to do the same. That being said, I want to share some pictures from today's stroll through the garden. I hope this inspires you to start one of your own! It doesn't have to be big or elaborate, even a basket of strawberries is a wonderful start. The important part is to actually start. ;)
