Weekly Garden Series-Week 7
This is the progress of my garden. We are on week 7
We had a heavy rain and I realized that the Dragonfruit needed to be moved as the spot that it was in was nit the best for it as it held water on the ground for a log time. About 10 feet away was a higher and drier part of the yard so I moved it. As with last week it has grown so much in the last week.
The luffa plant is growing strong. It will not be long before it will overgrow this area. Which is why I have decided to move it away from other plants. Which also gives me the good ground to plant some vegetable plants, I have started some eggplant plants to go there.
After much time it seems the basil is starting to grow. This picture shows my helper plants. These plants are important to draw the pollinators. So getting them growing and flowering is just as important as everything else.
The zucchini plants are getting really big. The ones that were in the pots before are no where near as big but they are doing much better now that they are in the ground.
I planted a few new plants in the pots and plan on putting them in the ground soon.
The spinach has fully grown and time to eat.
The hot peppers plants are growing very big. many have peppers on them.
Even though it is not of the season to grow Collard Greens it seems they are starting to grow rather nicely.
The peas and green beans are starting to grow nicely.
The cranberry hibiscus is growing strong as well.
That is the progress of my garden for week 7. Everything is growing well and I am having fun with a few experiments.
The lettuce, bock choy and the tomatoes are all bought from the store and I am trying to grow them showing that you do not need a ton of resources to grow your own food.
Each week I show you what has grown the most. So one week I might not show you a plant that does not mean nothing happened with it. It is just that I have so many plants that I think it is best to show you the ones that have changed the most since the last week or changed the most since the last time I told you about them.
Thank you for stopping by for this weekly garden update post and stay tuned for next Wednesday for week 8.
steady, entertaining and fun. I am continually amazed at the harvest I get from my peppers. This year I grew tabasco peppers for the first time. I had no idea they would be so laden with juice. I thought maybe it was a fluke. Nope, every single one I opened was drenched in hot goodness. It made for the easiest hot sauce I've ever made.
growing new things in a garden always is fun when you watch them grow and get good results.
