Food for Martians

It is about food manufacturing problem for the first Mars colony.

I do not expect that meat will be available in the first years of the colonization:

On Earth most of the plants have access to water and natural sunlight:

But on Mars they will need some help. I found that the simplest form of hydroponics is called Kratky method. It did not need pumps or moving parts:
