Hi there! welcome back to my old DOS gaming review blog. Here in this blog, i will be updating my article on reviewing old games especially game that was released for MS-DOS Platform. Here, I would not be just reviewing the game, but also try to experience how it feels to play the game. I am reviewing or playing these old games is in order to bring back or just remembering all of those sweet memories that I have in the old days. So, for those of you who never play the game that I reviewed in my article, do not worry, you still be able to play the game now, at the end of my article, i will give you the information on how you can install the game on your current PC or Mac, or if you do not want to do the hard work by installing this game, I will also give you the link so that you can play the game online. This review going to be just information about the game, I will also provide some screenshots in order to see how the game is look like. Then, at the end of this article, I will also give you the information how to play this game on your current computer or where you can play this game if you want to play it online.
Alien Trilogy
Good day everyone, in these weekend's post, I would like to talk about another old DOS game that could bring back those sweet memories that we have when we were kids about those games that we play in those beautiful days. The old game that I am going to talk about today is a game that belong to the genre of first person shooter video games. First person shooter video game until now is a very popular one. There are a lot of good first person shooter game that available nowadays in the market. However, despite being the popular game genre todays. The game that i am going to talk about is the game that belong to the genre but was released in the year of 1996. Because it was an old games, we are not going to talked about the graphic of the game but the gameplay whether is it worth it to play or not.
Now, as always, i would like to make the quick reminder about the video game restriction. This video game is belong to the violence side of video games. So, this video game has age restriction. with this restriction, off course, this game going to be played by a limited user. Since the kids could not play the game. Well despite being the violence game, this video game is still have a very good gameplay.
Another thing that i want to remind you that, although this video game is an old games, I never played this video game before. Actually, i do not play a lot of game in the old days. I do not have a pc or even a PS1 when i were a kid. So, this review is really for me trying to play the game that i do not have the opportunity to play before and maybe for those of you who also want to experience the old game that you also never have the opportunity to play. We can play it now, just to feel the old memories.
Alright, Now, Let's start talking about this video game. We will start about the history, development, gameplay, game modes and give my opinion on this game at the end of this article.
Now, let's begin by learning a bit about this video game development.
Alien Trilogy video game is a video game that belong to the genre of a first-person shooter video game. Alien Trilogy was developed by Probe Entertainment company and the game was published by Acclaim Entertainment. This video game was released in the year of 1996 and release for several platform such as PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Microsoft DOS. This video game was based on the very popular movie series with the tittle "Alien" from the director Ridley Scott.
In term of the game development, this video game has some up and down moment. In the early of 1994, this game was announced to be the first video game that was developed using the 3D motion capture technology by Acclaim Entertainment. This technology was used in order to create a real looking alien movements. For the time era, this technology was considered one of the advance technology that available in the game industry.

Alright, Now let's talk about the plot and the gameplay of Alien Trilogy video game.
In term of the plot or the storyline of this video game, The story was create around a lieutenant named Ellen Ripley. The player will play the role of the lieutenant. This storyline is derived from the film itself which exactly the first three movie of the franchise. The story or the plot of the game were told through text-based briefings mission that the player can read when starting the game.
The plot of the game will begin in the same story of what happen in the movies, the lieutenant, Ripley here is a marine that go to a place called LV426. The mission is to restore the contact with the colony that live in that place. However, an unexpected event happen which all the other marine that travel with Ripley was wipe out. So, being alone, Ripley have to travel through the colony of the place that has been infested by aliens and she has to destroy all the aliens in order to escape.
The gameplay of Alien Trilogy will have a very similar condition also with the film series. This game will also feature the character that have in the film such as facehuggers, chestbursters, dog aliens, and Queen aliens. In total, there are 30 level available in the game and 3 queen bosses. Then, there are also several weapons available such as pulse rifle and other equipment that includes a shoulder lamp. This equipment can be used by the player to navigate through a dark area.
When the player first start the game, the player will see a screen that contain text which is the mission that the player has to follow as shown in the figure above. Then, the game will start and the player will start with a pistol at the beginning. As the game progress, the player will be given another equipments. These equipments that are available are as follows:

Shotgun
Pulse Riffle
Flame Thrower
Smart Gun

My opinion about Alien Trilogy video games.
This is my first experience playing this video game. In term of the gameplay, I think this game have a very good and fun gameplay. There are a lot element of surprise happen in this game as well. You will be surprise a lot by the alien that showed suddenly in front of you. Despite being categorized as the violent game, I could not found any disturbing scene that happen in the game. This game is I think worth to try if you love playing old games and in the genre of first person shooter.
