Here, I would not be just reviewing the game, but also try to experience how it feels to play the game. I am reviewing or playing these old games is in order to bring back or just remembering all of those sweet memories that I have in the old days. Battle Bugs - A very Unique Real-time Strategy Game
For today's post, I would like to review another old DOS game to bring back those sweet memories. The game that I am going to review today is a game that belong to the genre of real-time strategy video games. A real-time strategy video game is consider difficult to play and it required a lot of thinking in order to win the game. The player need to understand the character capabilities in order to design a good strategy to win. The player need to think about the strategy of the best way to attack the opponents and at the same time the strategy to defense so that it can hold the enemies attack. Real-time strategy genre video game nowadays is very popular. As it so popular now, why dont we take a little time to look on how is a real-time strategy game looks like in the 90s.
If you have following my article until now, you will probably notice that I have review about this kind of genre video game before. The strategy video game that i have been reviewed before is Command & Conquer : Red Alert. That game is so popular at it's era. So, this is certainly not my first realtime strategy genre video game review. The video game that I am going to to review today is called Battle Bugs. From the title itself, it will raise the eyebrows right? a strategy game with bugs, this gonna be interesting is it not? So, let's talk about this video game now.
Alright, as always, before we are going to talk in details about Battle Bugs video game, as usual I would like to make a quick reminder that this video game is available for all ages, this is not a violence video game. So, this video game is not restricted to age and it is available to be played by a wider range of age. However, since this game is a strategy video game, it is required a lot of thinking to play this game. So, this video game has a quite difficult game play. This game is not suitable to play when you just want to have fun and relax.
Alright, Now, Let's start talking about this game. We will start about the history, development, gameplay, game modes and give my opinion on this game at the end of this article.
Now, let's begin by learning a bit about this video game development.
Battle Bugs video game is a video game that is belong to the genre of real-time tactics or real-time strategy video game. This video game was developed for MS-DOS and Windows platform. This game was developed by Epyx. Epyx is a video game developer and publisher company that active in the year of 1970s. The company was founded by Jim Connelley and Jon Freeman. Epyx published a various series of games from the 1980s, unfortunately, the company went bankrupt in the year of 1989, and finally disappearing in 1993.
Battle Bugs video game was released by Sierra On-Line company in the year of 1994. Besides MS-DOS and Windows, this video game also ported into PlayStation platform. The PlayStation version of this video game was released in Japan in the year of 1997.
In summary, this video game tell a story about the war of one group of insects. This group of insects are battling another group. The battle of between these two group of insects are taking place in a common household places. This is one the Unique factor that this video game has. These common place that use as the arena of the battlefield could be the kitchen floor or the backyard. In order to start the game, the player need to navigate their bugs and engage the enemie's bug to start the battle. Each of these bug has a special skills.
The main objective of the game when do the battle is to eliminate or eradicate all of the enemies bugs. or the player also can capture all piece of food that are available on the battlefield. To capture all the food, the player can position the bugs on the food for a certain amount of time until there is a flag that raised. When all the food that available have the player's team flag, the battle is won. However, the enemies also can reclaim the food that have captured, that is why eradicating the enemies bug is a best way to win the game.

This video game will develops the logical skills that the player have. The player need to think logically to set a good strategy to win the game. Different bugs have their own weakness and advantages again another types of bugs. That is why the player need to think in order to combine which strategy to go to the next mission.

Lightning Bugs
A moderately good fighter. It stronger that the mosquito, but weaker than bee
Ants
The ant is a fast walker and a strong thrower. Only the ants and the pill bug can throw bombs
Grasshopper
A very powerful jumper with a moderately potent attack, but a weak defender
Water Bugs
A weak fighter that can cross water;walks slowly on land but is fast on water, oil, and any other liquid form
Pill Bugs
Pill bugs can throw bombs, though not as fas as ants. They are immune to explosives
Flea
A fast walker that can also make short jumps. but a weak fighter
Praying Mantis
Has an extremely powerful attack. is a match for any bug except a rhinoceros beetle
Mosquito
A fast flier, but not a strong fighter

My opinion about Battle Bugs video games.
As I have said earlier at the beginning of this article, I have never played this game before. This is the firs time i try playing this game. So, after spending some time with this game. I could say that this video game is very good. The gameplay is a bit difficult because it is realtime strategy game. So, for those of you who just want to play game to relax, I do not recommended this game. But, if you just want to try to play an old real-time strategy game. This one video game is worth trying for.

- Execute BUGS.EXE to install the game onto the DOS system.
