Hi there! welcome back to my old DOS gaming review blog. Here in this blog, i will be updating my article on reviewing old games especially game that was released for MS-DOS Platform. Here, I would not be just reviewing the game, but also try to experience how it feels to play the game. I am reviewing or playing these old games is in order to bring back or just remembering all of those sweet memories that I have in the old days. So, for those of you who never play the game that I reviewed in my article, do not worry, you still be able to play the game now, at the end of my article, i will give you the information on how you can install the game on your current PC or Mac, or if you do not want to do the hard work by installing this game, I will also give you the link so that you can play the game online. Alright, let's start the review.

This review going to be just information about the game, I will also provide some screenshots in order to see how the game is look like. Then, at the end of this article, I will also give you the information how to play this game on your current computer or where you can play this game if you want to play it online.

Hello everyone, are you all in a good shape today? I really hope so. So, today I would like to talk about another old DOS game that could bring back the sweet memories that we have when we were kids. The memories about the games that we play in those beautiful old days. The old game that I am going to talk about today is a game that still belong to the genre of first-person shooter video games. Just like my previous post. As you have now that the FPS games is really popular right now. So, let's learn about the PFS game that was release in the 90s. How was the game look like and we can see and compare to todays FPS game. The thing that we need to compare here is off course, the gameplay the game bring, not the graphic.

Now, as always, i would like to make the quick reminder about the video game restriction. This video game is belong to the violence side of video games. It is categorized as a PG-13 video game. So, this video game has age restriction. with this restriction, off course, this game going to be played by a limited user. Since the kids could not play the game. Well despite being the violence game, this video game is still have a very good gameplay.

Alright, Now, Let's start talking about this video game. We will start about the history, development, gameplay, game modes and give my opinion on this game at the end of this article.

Now, let's begin by learning a bit about this video game development.

Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold is a video game that belong to the genre of first-person shooter computer game. This video game was developed by JAM Productions and published by Apogee Software. This video game was released in the year of 1993 for DOS platform. This video game use a game engine that called Wolfenstein 3D. There is a shareware version that was released in 1993.

Here is the summary of the game development below:

• Publisher : Apogee Software
• Platform : MS-DOS
• Released : December 3, 1993
• Genre : First Person Shooter
• Game Mode : Single Player

In term of the plot or the story of this video game, Blake of stone is set in the year of 2140. The main character in the game is called Robert Wills Stone a.k.a Blake Stone. He is an agent from the British Intelligence. He has a very successful career before in the British Royal Navy. That is why he was recruited as an Intelligence Agent.

The major case that this character get in his first mission is to investigate a possible treat from a very smart scientist named Dr. Pyrus Goldfire. He is a specialist in the field of genetics and biology. Dr. Goldfire has a plan to conquer the Earth and enslave the humanity. Dr. Goldfire employ the army fo a specially trained human conscripts in order to conquer the Earth. He is also working with aliens that he modified and also mutants as his army. So, agent Stone is sent to the mission where he has to destroy all this army and elimated Dr. Goldfire army before it reach the Earth.

I term of the gameplay, This video game has a very interesting gameplay. There are objectives that Mr. Stone has to fulfill in order to be able to eliminate all Dr. Goldfire army. The main objectives of Mr. Stone is to finish all 6 mission in total that assign to him. Each of this mission will continue where the previous one leaves off. The overall objective is to stop Dr. Goldfire before he can release his mutant creation in the universe.

Here is some information about the items that are the player need to play the game below.

The player will start each of the mission from floor 1. In order to be able to proceed to the next floor. the player need to find the RED access key that looked like the picture showed. Once the player made to the floor 9, the player will fight with the evil Dr. Goldfire in a one-on-one fight. If the player survive the fight. The player still need to destroy on of Dr. Goldfire creation which is one of his fiercest creations.

In order to move between floors, the player need to enter the elevator and move up to the wall as the picture showed. Press space bar key to activate the floor selection screen and then the player can use the keyboard number pad to enter the number of floor that the player want to go. Remember, the player need to have RED access key in order to move to the next floor. However, the player still can play the floor that has been played and finished before. but, the state of the floor will be restarted to the state where the floor like has not been played yet. Everything will restart as it was.

During the game play, the player need to press TAB key in order to display the auto-map or statistic window. The window / auto-map as shown in the picture above. The area of the left of the picture show an overhead view of where the player have been gone on each floor that the player currently playing. Green ares are the area that not hidden, while dark green is the area that are hidden. Flashing dot from the picture is where the player right now, light green color dots are for the door that has been unlocked. Finally, the RED color dots are for the doors that are locked. In the statistic window, the player also can see the the data such as total points, informants alive, enemy destroyed, floor rating and mission rating.

The picture above show the food units information. Food units will produces items that increase the player health. In order to activate the food units, the player need to walk to the wall and press space bar. The REBA interface will describe the item that the player will received from the food units. In order to operate the machines, the player need to have the token. These token can be found on the floor or given to the player when the player interrogate the informants.

Barrier Switches are used to toggle ARCS and POSTS on and off. In order to activate it, the player need to walk to the wall and press space bar key. The REBA interface will tell the player where the ARC or POSTS are located.

Teleporting units, or Warps are the device that can take the player from one area of a floor to another, or even out of the floor into another depending on the type of the warp device that the player step into. In order to teleport, the the player need to find the device as shown in the picture and press space bar. The player will rotate 180 degrees and warp-out.

Hidden areas also could be found in any given area of a floor. To open a hidden area, the player need to roam along the wall at an angle while depressing the space bar.

In total there are 6 mission available in the game:

• Mission 1: Star Institute
• Mission 2: Floating Fortress
• Mission 3: Underground Network
• Mission 4: Star Port
• Mission 5: Habitat II
• Mission 6: Satellite Defense

The player will see the briefing of each mission after choosing the mission before the game start.

My opinion about Blake Stone : Aliens of Gold. video games.

After spending some time playing this video game, I would like to say that this video has a very good and fun gameplay. The storyline of the game is very interesting as well. Then, with all the level and the feature as long as the objective that each level must be complete before going to the next level, it is really fun to play. I really recommend this game for those of you who love playing old video games.
