Hi there! welcome back to my old DOS gaming review blog. Here in this blog, i will be updating my article on reviewing old games especially game that was released for MS-DOS Platform. Here, I would not be just reviewing the game, but also try to experience how it feels to play the game. I am reviewing or playing these old games is in order to bring back or just remembering all of those sweet memories that I have in the old days. So, for those of you who never play the game that I reviewed in my article, do not worry, you still be able to play the game now, at the end of my article, i will give you the information on how you can install the game on your current PC or Mac, or if you do not want to do the hard work by installing this game, I will also give you the link so that you can play the game online. Alright, let's start the review.

This review going to be just information about the game, I will also provide some screenshots in order to see how the game is look like. Then, at the end of this article, I will also give you the information how to play this game on your current computer or where you can play this game if you want to play it online.

Good day everyone, I really hope all of us will have a better health. For today's post, I would like to talk about another old DOS game that could bring back the sweet memories that we have when we were kids. The memories about the games that we play in those beautiful old days. The old game that I am going to talk about today is a game that belong to the genre of shooter video games. The video game that i am going to talk about today called Kiloblaster. Kiloblaster is a scrolling shooter video game. There are a lot of scrolling shooter game that are available on the market today. But this game that i am reviewing is the game that was released in the year of 1992. Quite old huh?

As always, before we are starting to talk about the game, I would like to make a quick reminder about this video game restriction. This video game do not belong to the violence side of video games. So, this video game has no age restriction. with this, this game could be played by a all user without any restriction. Because of this, this game could have more user to play the game. It can be played by kids, teenagers or adults. This game is also very easy to play and have a very good and fun gameplay.

Alright, Now, Let's start talking about this video game. We will start about the history, development, gameplay, game modes and give my opinion on this game at the end of this article.

Now, let's begin by learning a bit about this video game development.

Kiloblaster is a video game that belong to the genre of shooter video game. It is a space shooter video game that was published by Epic MegaGames. This video game was written by Allen Pilgrim. The game was release in the year of 1992 for MS-DOS platform. This video game not quite original in term of it's the development. Kiloblaster is actually was developed based on another classic game called Galaxian. Compare to Galaxian, Kiloblaster has a few differences such as the movement of the player now support horizontally and vertically, the enemy movement is now much faster compared to Galaxian. There are also some other feature that was add such as power-ups, enemies that take more than one hit, and allies to assist in battle.

Allen Pilgrim company declared this video game as a freeware in 2008. They also release the source code of the game. With this, there are many developers that port this game for another platform.

Gameplay and Storyline.

There are three episode available in this video game, each episode consist of 30 levels. In term of the storyline, each episode has different storyline. The three episodes are:

Death of a Starship
In this first episode, the storyline was surround by a starship called Kiloprise. This ship was attacked by aliens and then was sent to the outer regions of space. In order to prevent the attack to reach the Earth. The captain fight his way through the galaxy to warn the the people on earth about the incoming rebel invasion. The captain fight with a powerful jet fighter ship and transport all the remaining crew.
No Way Out
In this second episode, the Kiloblaster was surrounded by the enemies force. Then, at certain point, they found the aliens weak point and then start another battle. in this episode was the battle between Kiloblaster and Aliens after the advantages that the Kiloblaster have after finding their weak point.
The Final Battle
The story in this final episode was based on the aliens that make a counterattack to attack the Earth. In order to defend the Earth, all of captain make all the speeds possible in order to alert the earth by fighting a battle which called Final Battle, this battle is a must to eliminate all the aliens in order to make the Earth safe.

In term of the gameplay, as I have said before, each episode consist of 30 levels. The player of this game will have to use a ship that called Kiloblaster to eliminate all the aliens ships in each level. The player need to survive the multiple attack from alien ships. The enemies ship has a variety of defends. Some of aliens ship could be destroyed by one shoot, but some others are require more shots. The Kiloblaster ship will have five live. The ship will be destroyed if the ship get hit for five times. Few enemies also use killer laser shots instead of bullets to attack the Kiloblaster. In some levels there are also space mines which could destroy the Kiloblaster ship when the ship hit it.

In the gameplay, to assist the player, there are also some item that are available to help the player for aid. This items are all in the form of fruit. The list of the item capabilities are as follows:

Power-ups Item

An Apple: This item will help the player restore a hit point and also will boost the player's score if the ship's hit point are already maxed out.
A Banana: This item will help boosting the player score.
A strawberry: If the player require this item in the gameplay, the player will get help a temporarily support from two or four wingman. This wingman will come in the form of miniature ship that fire projectiles.
A Can of Spinach: This item will grants the Kiloblaster ship a temporary invincibility shield.

My opinion about Kiloblaster video games.

This game is quite fun to play, especially if you just want to spent your relax time with playing game. The gameplay is very easy. I think this game is very suitable for people who just want to relax by playing game.
