Alright, let's start our old DOS game review.

Eye of the Beholder II : The Legend of Darkmoon

For today's article, here in my Steemit blog, I would like to review or experience another old DOS game that belong to the genre of Role playing video games. If you have following my article until now, you will probably notice that this is the first article that i am reviewing a game that belong the role playing genre. The video game that I am going to to review today is called Eye of the Beholder II : The Legend of Darkmoon. This video game have a very interesting gameplay. Talking about the gameplay, this video game is one of the best role playing video game that I have tried recently. To be honest, I have never play this game before. So, this is my first time experiencing this game. The character that the player will control in this video game is quite a lot. At the beginning, the player need to create a character to play the role. There are many race available that the player can choose when creating the character in this game. We will talk about the race that available in this game later in the article.

This video game also have some of the best soundtrack. I think the soundtrack that this game has a very good sound. The music is almost like harry potter film music. It is very suitable and bring the tense and feel about the world that this game have, the feel of the magic world is strong with the help of the soundtrack of this game. The one that create the soundtrack or the music for this game is also well known for his best music work for another game. For those of you who love playing strategy game, you must have heard about Command and Conquer video game. The soundtrack in CC video game is also create by the same person that create the soundtrack for this game, Eye of the Beholder II. His name is Frank Klepaci. We will talk about this later as well.

The gameplay of this game in short is that the player will play role as a race in this video game, This video game is taking place after the first series end. So, here the player will enjoy his fame that he gained from the first game inside an inn. Then, the word spread out that there is an evil being brewing inside a temple called Darkmoon. So, the hero objective is to investigate the temple. While the hero battling the way to the temple, the player will discover that the high priest in the game named Dran Draggore is actually a red dragon that is assembling the legions of skeletal warriors to attack a place called Waterdeep. On the way to the temple, the player need to pass a test fron acolytes in order to gain access to the inner parts of the temple. So, the player will need to gain access to all the temple in order to save the scout that was trapped inside the temple.

Alright, as always, before we are going to talk in details about Eye of the Beholder video game, as usual I would like to make a quick reminder that this video game is considered a violent game. There are human killing with the scene that contain blood in it. So this video game could not be played by a wider range of age, this game is age restricted because of it's violence. Beside, the gameplay of this game is quite difficult for kids, the player need to understand the objective and the story of this game in order to proceed or finish the objective of this game.

Alright, Now, Let's start talking about this game. We will start about the history, development, gameplay, game modes and give my opinion on this game at the end of this article.

Now, let's begin by learning a bit about this video game development.

Eye of the Beholder game series.

Eye of the beholder video game series is a video game that belong to the genre of role-playing video game. This video game was release for computer and consoles. Eye of the beholder video game was developed by Westwood Associates. Westwood Associates is an American video game developer company that headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. This video game was published by Strategic Simulations company and was released in the year of 1991 for DOS platform. Later in the year 1992, the game also was ported to the Amiga console, the SEGA CD, Game boy Advance and the NES.

On the other hand, Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon is sequel to Eye of the Beholder. This sequle version used the modified version of the first game's engine, this sequel also added outdoor areas and also increased greatly the amount of interaction that the player had with their environment. This sequel update also have a substantially more role-playing aspects to the game.

Eye of the Beholder II : The Legend of Darkmoon Gameplay

Eye of the Beholder II : The Legend of Darkmoon video game is taking place after the story of the first game end. This sequel gameplay is still much remain within the confines of a temple called Darkmoon. Once the player has able to enter to the temple, the player will be able to roam freely between locations. This video game features the catacombs that locate beneath the Darkmoon temple, the upper levels of the temple and also the three towers that the temple have. These three towers named Silver, Azure, and Crimson.

Before the game is start, the player need to create the character that will be controlled. These character is belong to different race. The player of this game need to create 4 character in total before the game can be start. Each of the race has different class and alignment available to it. When creating the character, the palyer also need to create the class and the alignment to the race that the player has choose. There are 6 race that the player can play as.

The plot or the storyline of this game is also very interesting, after the event of the first game end, the hero has to investigate a temple called Darkmoon. There are evil being that reside in the temple, Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun send the scouts to the temple but they never return. So, the player need to investigate what happened to them. That is the main story of this video game.

My opinion about Eye of the Beholder video games.

To be honest, I have never heard of this game before and never played. This is my first time playing this game. After spending some time playing Eye of the Beholder II : The Legend of Darkmoon, I could say that this game is one the game that can make ourself want to keep playing the game because of it's story. The game is a bit challenging to play. However, this game is still very fun to play and This game is one of the game that i recommended.
