What's up steemians?

I almost have no any idea what I should write. Then, I decided to search what game is famous in 1990's. I looked at Nintendo Entertainment System but I did not find what I want to review. Then, the idea came into my mind. I thought about Sega Genesis which is home console video game. However, It did not end here because I had to find what Sega Genesis game should be reviewed. I conduct "the research" again and luckily I found an amazing game which is called "Gunstar Heroes". To save our time, let me review this game for you.

Gunstars Heroes

Gunstar Heroes is an action-shooting video game that was released for Sega Genesis. The developer of this game is Treasure which is a video game company but the publishing part was taken by Sega in late 1993. Later, Game Gear version was released by M2. In 2006, Gunstar Heroes was available on PlayStation 2 and Wii's Virtual Console in 2009. Six years later Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network versions were released.

Gameplay

Gunstar Heroes combines a run-and-gun genre game and a side-scrolling shooter to make it more interesting to be played. The character that can be controlled by the player has two different characters which are Red and Blue. Read means free shot. In this condition, the player can move freely when he is shooting the enemies. Meanwhile, Blue is a fixed shot. In this condition, the player only can stand in one place when shooting the enemies.

Moreover, this game offers four kind basic weapons than being chosen by the player from the beginning of the game. The first weapon type is Force which can only shot small bullets. I think that it is the weakest weapon type. Then, the second weapon type is Lightning which can release fires. The third weapon is Chaser which can shoot stars. Then the last is Flame which is the most dangerous and powerful weapon type. The player can pick up these weapons during the game is undergoing. Furthermore, the most interesting part is that the player can utilize and combine two weapons at once which means the player can perform a new weapon type.

The player can play the first four stage of the game randomly. In other games that have the same genre with Gunstar Heroes, the health bar can be countered as a numerical. Meanwhile, in this game, the player is only given one life. The things that are being the main focus of this game are to encounter the bosses. Then, there is more than one boss in each stage. Different boss has the different movements and abilities.

Plot

A long time ago, there was an evil organization which built the most powerful robot named Golden Silver. The purpose of Golden Silver creation is to demolish the civilization from the moon. Then, the Gunstar family decided to fight this dangerous robot. The Gunstar family consisted of a twin brother which were Red and Blue, a sister named Yellow and the older brother named Green. After defeating Golden Silver, the Gunstar seized the four gems that were Golden Silver power source. Then, they hid the gems in the Earth. Due to run out of energy, The Gunstar sealed themselves on the moon.

As time flies, Golden Silver is also believed as a God by the people because he said that he will bring the good people to paradise. Then, an emperor named General Gray sends his men to explore the moon. But it's not a normal expedition because his purpose is to find the four gems and bring back alive Golden Silver. If this mission success, he can use Golden Silver's power to rule the universe. This expedition is led by Professor Brown. Accidentally, He finds the Gunstars in stasis. The Gunstars know the Emperor's plan. Then, their older brother Green is on the emperor side to reanimate Golden Silver. The Gunstars succeed to convince Professor Brown to help them in order to stop the emperor's plan.

You can choose the number of players that can be controlled.

You can choose between Red and Blue. If you select Red, it means you choose the free firing. But if you choose Blue, it means that your shooting mode is fixed. Then you also can pick up which weapon type that you want to utilize during the game is running.

The Red is riding a pod and firing the enemies using the lighting weapon.
