Hi guys! how are you doing? you have a great day, haven't you? As usual, I'm about to review a retro video game. This time, the video game that I want to review comes from Sega Saturn Collections. The name of this video game is "Nights into Dreams". Have you ever heard or played this video game? If no, you don't need to worry because I'm going to explain about this video game to you. Nights into Dreams
Nights into Dreams is an action video game. In 1996, Sonic Team developed this video game while Sega released it for Sega Saturn platform. After releasing Sonic & Knuckles in 1994, Sonic Team began to develop this video game soon. Sonic Team veterans who were Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima and Takashi Iizuka led the development of this video game. In addition, this video game achieved several good responses for its graphics, gameplay, soundtrack, and atmosphere.
This video game came up in some lists of the best games ever made. Then, a Christmas-themed version named Christmas Nights was released in December 1996. In 2008, this video game was ported to PlayStation 2 exclusively in Japan. Meanwhile, a high-definition version was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows in 2012. Furthermore, this video game was also ported to Wii that titled Nights: Journey of Dreams in 2007

Gameplay
The number of levels in Nights into Dreams is seven that refers to as "Dream". The distribution of these levels are between the two teenage characters where three unique levels are for Claris; three to Elliot; and each character plays in identical final seventh level named "Twin Seeds". At the beginning of the game, the levels that are available are Claris' "Spring Valley" and Elliot's "Splash Garden". After completing one of these levels, the next level will be unlocked.
The player can play in the stages that have been completed in order to get higher scores than before. The range of grade is between A and F. However, to unlock the relevant "Twin Seeds" stage, the player whether Claris or Elliot must achieve C grade (or better). Then, the points that they have got will be accumulated. This accumulation depends on how fast the player completes a level. Then, when the player flies through rings, there are extra points.
In this video game, each level is divided into four "Mares" set in Nightopia and ended up with a boss fight which locates in Nightmare. Initially, in each level, the player controls Claris or Elliot who immediately has their Ideyas (spherical objects containing emotions) of hope, wisdom, intelligence, and purity that are stolen from them by Wiseman's minions. The emotions that are left their Ideyas of courage.
The mission of each Mare is to recover one of the stolen Ideyas by collecting 20 blue chips. This blue chips must be delivered to the cage that is holding the Ideyas that overloads and releases the orb that it holds. The player cannot walk around the landscape for too long because they are pursued by a sentient alarm clock that awakens the character and ends the level if the player touches this alarm. Most of the gameplay focus on flying sequences.
PLOT
Elliot Edwards and Claris Sinclair are two teenagers who live in the city of Twin Seeds. One day, both of them go through failures. As basketball players, Elliot and his friends were defeated and humiliated by a group of older school students. Meanwhile, Claris is a singer who is talented. She has the ambition to perform on the stage. She joined a singer competition in Twin Seeds. When her turn is started, Suddenly she fears and does not perform well. It causes her to fail.
Then, they go to sleep at that night. Both of them suffer nightmares that recall the events. They run away into Nightopia and find that they both own the rare Red Ideya of Courage which is the only type that Wizeman cannot steal. Once in Nightopia, they discover and free Nights who informs them about Wizeman, dreams, and his plans. These three start a travel to stop Wizeman and bring back peace to Nightopia.

My Opinion
I have explained some important information about this video game. But, I have not played this video game yet. I tried to find the online version but I got nothing. I'm sorry that I cannot provide a link like usual I did. According to the reviewers, the graphics, gameplay, and soundtrack of this video game are amazing. You must try by yourself. Then, the storyline of this video game is different from common video games. This video game also got several good responses from video game experts. In short, I give 8.5 of 10 for this amazing video game. I hope you enjoy reading my article and see you in the next post.
