Sword Art Online In VRChat
Hello everyone!
So, I mentioned that I was planning on returning to the SAO world inside VRChat. Last time I was unfortunate, and crashed because there were too many people in the world. This time was also super laggy, and I didn't get to make it to the end, but I got to see a decent amount of the map.
I think that next time, when there is an update (or if i want to just play around in the world) I'll make it a private world so just @thecastle and I can see everything. More people = more lag, and it's just a very large world in general, with a lot going on.
Anyways, here is what happened!
We opened up the portal, and prepared ourselves for the awesome.
We ended up in Kirito's room, and it was obvious that this was where we would enter the virtual world inside an already virtual world. Gameception.
I didn't get a screenshot, but we were greeted by the "Link Start" sequence, and it was really trippy!
We then spawned into a floating island where we could see the floating castle in the background, a map of the area, and we could choose to play as a character from SAO. I chose Asuna and @thecastle played Kirito.
When we were done looking at the signs, and picking our characters, we jumped off the edge of the floating platform, and materialized in the lower world.
There were NPCs and hidden areas all around the town. We quickly got distracted by pretty much anything. I got myself stuck inside a wall, and also helped myself to some fresh sushi?
When we finally decided to grab our weapons and head out into the fields, we were quite amused. I ended up using a giant axe, and "penetrating" enemies with it. No.. really.
Some people joined the world, and we quickly grouped up, and assigned roles. Tank, healer, etc... Although the roles don't actually work at the moment, they call it "role"play for a reason. :p
The busier the world got, the more I started to lag, and after killing a giant boss bunny (I swear, I'll get a screenshot next time!) and stabbing a few more enemies, I had to re-block avatars, which caused my game to take a shit.
I wasn't able to re-join, so I went off in search of the Ghibli world, that I am yet to find. I'll have to do some research and figure out what it's called, because I really want to go take photos there, and share it with everyone. I love Miyazaki!
Until next time ;]
Nice. After you mentioned this world and its update, I checked it out myself last week. It seems to have great potential and I liked the details such as these fishes swimming in the sea.
I am looking forward to see the dungeon. The entrance is already there.
