The advantage of this whole battle is that I get the Crossbow, which is a weapon silent and that you can kill a zombie with a single shot to the head.
When the zombies are at a short distance, it is better to shoot without using the sights. This allows you to have better aim. I recommend that you don't shoot in open spaces, because if you fail you'll lose the arrow.
But it is risky in spaces too narrow, because it is not a weapon that shoots fast, and the recharge is somewhat slow, the only advantage is that it allows you to attack from the distance and without making any noise.
By now the municion is somewhat limited, but you can re-use the same arrow if you grab the zombie you killed
