Smooth as on my system and like the art style. See what you mean in doom meets Dark Souls, brutally punishing until you learn how the different enemies act
Also in the full game you will have a central hub area where you can reach the fabricator and there are fast travel locations that are a lot like bonfires in Dark Souls.
