I am getting farther in the haunted mansion and make my way into tunnels from the basement.

I should reset the game a little if you are not familiar with it. Alone In The Dark came out in 1992 and was the first of the "scary adventure" games. It set the tone for games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, etc.
