E3 about to start on a sunny day in LA

I arrived for the first day of E3, and it was amazing to see the long queues just to register for your badge and to get through the intense security checks while sweating in the beautiful LA sunny weather. Once inside, I watched the doors open and the gamers rushing in — there were a lot of cool booths set up and many chances for demos or a first hands on. After a few hours, the waiting lines for some games like the new Smash Bros got extremely long, also Fallout 76 was of huge interest.

A lot of big Publishers and Developers are bringing out new games in their franchises, like Call of Duty, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Division, Soul Calibur and more. But it was especially great to see the Indie community grow, with some exciting and unique games for both PC, Mobile and VR. E3 also had various games from the Asian region, with a lot of focus on free to play and arcade games. I also met Team Liquid and their super friendly team manager Michael, which whom I had a great conversation about League of Legends. Amazing and fun stuff, with a lot of cosplay as well!

One of the biggest positive surprises was the adoption of Blockchain and gaming, I talked to more than 5 projects that are doing either in-game asset trading, tokenized rewards or content distribution aided by Blockchain. With some of these projects we actually found to have great synergies, so you might be seeing a cooperation along the way (soon).

Gaming is getting more and more professional, esepcially with esport, but also with peripherals like gaming keyboards, headsets and even luxurious gaming chairs. With huge events like E3 also opening up to the public, one can only imagine how big these events grow in the future. You could really feel the whole city (or at least certain districts) buzzing with gaming and everything around it for the duration of the E3.

Great event at Wedbush, with LootCrate and Skillz

At a networking afterparty I was able to meet amazing people from a lot of big corporations, and it was a great opportunity to connect and get some feedback regarding our business model. Long story short — our approach is well received and liked, even by the biggest names in the industry. Due to them being big companies, it might take some time until we can announce something though, so I apologize for being so vague. Stay tuned for some news though!
