RE: Backlog Review | The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
I loved how every segment of the review has a Zelda pun on the title.
You know? I could never into 2d Zelda titles but I think that's because my first ever green tunic adventure I experienced was Ocarina of Time. I guess this hardwired brain into thinking that was how every Zelda should be, so when I take a look back at the first zelda or A link to the past and even A link Between worlds, I don't feel that compelled to play them.
Haha they were fun to come up with. :)
Ocarina of Time was a near perfect game when it was released and it was tough to go back to a 2D Zelda from that point forward. Nintendo really outdid themselves with their 3D take on the Zelda franchise. But what made them great was the same things that made the ones that came before it great as well.
It really makes going back and seeing the roots of the modern Zelda formula fun! I will admit, I do miss the epic set pieces and sprawling 3D environments when I play them though.
I've seen people call ocarina simply A link to the past in 3d, while even making comparisons like this:
But hey, I guess some prefer 2D and some 3D in the end!
A divisive topic for sure! I don't know if I could choose between the two! Both are amazing games. 😁
