League Of Legends is becoming more and more like Dota2 after new updatessteemCreated with Sketch.

Hello LoL Steemit Players!!!

As you probably know, or are about to know, LoL has undertaken a few new steps in achieving a better Gameplay environment

These changes include the release of the champion 'ORN' and its recent announcement to the Level Update (which I will be making another post about) - and it made me realise, that LoL was becoming less like LoL. This post will be focusing on the recent updates to league of legends.

So before we start, I would like to point out that I have nothing against these changes - in particular, I quite liked the Summoners Rift update during Season 6 (i think?) - that cleaned up lots of the game's graphics.

ORN

ORN is the most recent champion that was released in the game, and his abilities are quite intriguing:

His passive, notably, allows him to buy items without revisiting the fountain. Now, this is not necessarily game-breaking or anything (in my opinion the champion is extremely weak), but it is still game-changing, by introducing a strange, yet familiar mechanic. As long as he has gold, he takes two seconds to craft an item without ever returning to the base.

In Dota, returning to base only applies when you need help, not when you need to buy items. Dota players never have to think about the perfect time to back after accumulation of gold - they have other things to worry about, like losing creeps. Orn seems to have nothing to worry about at all from these factors! Imagine Dota introducing a champ who could only buy items by backing - game changing, or game breaking.

Lets be honest, Dota must have been the inspiration for the Orn designers. (but the fact that he can upgrade items is still pretty awesome).

LEVELING, IP & REWARDS UPDATE

So, on a more recent note (and this hasnt been enacted yet), League announced on its page that there were upcoming changes to Leveling, IP, and Rewards. I quote: 'Specifically, we’re removing the level 30 cap and merging IP with blue essence, among a bunch of other changes and improvements'

So basically,

Riot Games is getting rid of League's IP - which will make many of us showing off our lifetime savings sad, however, by merging it with blue essence essentially makes buying champs much easier! The 'new IP' is called 'BE'.

Riot Games is also removing the level 30 cap and introducing uncapped levelling - it is replaced by a 'rewards system that levels up with you' - sounds a lot like Dota to me! But I like it a lot! Every time you level up, you get a capsule with lots of blue essence and if you reach a certain benchmark, you have a chance of getting super rare items like a gemstone. This makes league a lot more F2P for skins, and I'm happy that Riot is finally not greedy for money!!

But why make this happen you ask (if the top wasn't enough)?

Well, Riot says it has many goals that are basically summed up with this little screenshot:

Anyways, personally i think this change will be AMAZING for a better in-client and Gameplay experience, but in conclusion, I still think league is beginning to look more like Dota - NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THERE IS A TON OF PRESEASON STUFF HAPPENING IN THE PBE LIKE A ZHONYA'S HOURGLASS RUNE!!!!

Hope you guys enjoyed my long ramble,
