Happy Halloween! The Darkest Holiday of the Year.

We all have that Kind of Game that we Always find ourselves coming back to on a Certain Holiday, and for me that Game is Luigi's Mansion on Gamcube, which I Always Replay on Halloween.

Today Im Reviewing Luigi's Mansion on the Nintnedo Gamecube

(North Amarican Box Art)

PLOT

The Game Starts with Luigi Walking to a Mansion in the Middle of the Nameless Dark and Creepy Woods

Turns out, According to the Manual Luigi Won a Mansion in a Contest He did not even Enter. Luigi, Believing that the Mansion is Real, Invites Mario over to the Mansion so they Can Party All Night.

So Back to the Game, Luigi Arrives at the Mansion and Find that Mario is not there, seeing it as Strange as Mario was Supposed to Be at the Mansion before Luigi. Luigi, Thinking that Mario Went to Explore the Mansion, Explores himself, and Find that the Mansion is Haunted. And Mario is Nowhere to be found.

In one of the Rooms Luigi is Attacked by Ghost and is Saved by Professor E'Gadd, a Paranormal Researcher. and then they Escape. After Escaping Luigi Tells E'Gadd his Story and E'Gadd Tells Luigi that the Ghost of the Mansion have Captured Mario, and that the Mansion is Actually was Trap Set by the Ghost to Lure the Mario Bros.

E,Gadd Gives Luigi a Handy Vacuum Cleaner, The Poltergust 3000. This Vacuum is apparently the only thing the Ghosts Fear.

After the Training E'Gadd Shows Luigi the Gallery and Tells his story, E'Gadd Spent Many Years Researching Ghost, and Found a Way to Seal Strong and Powerful into Harmless Paintings. and Spent his Time Capturing a Ton of ghost Till he Captured Ghost Number 22, Boolossus, E'Gadd has Happy to have a Full Gallery, However King Boo Was not too Happy about E'Gadd Capturing Boolossus, so King Boo Freed All of E'Gadd's Portrait Ghosts and Build a Large Mansion In front of E'Gadd's Lab to Add Insult to Injury.

So Luigi Heads off into the Mansion to Rescue Mario, Capture the Portrait Ghosts, and Stop King Boo.

Good God this Plot is Interesting, And this is a MARIO game! Where Plot does not Really Matter.

GAMEPLAY

So The Gameplay, Luigi's Mansion has Two Gameplay Styles, Standared and Sidestep, The only Real Difference Between the Two is that Moving the Control Stick does not move the Direction Luigi is Facing in Sidestep Mode, and you have to use the C-Stick to Move Luigi's Direction.

To Capture a Ghost you must use your Flashlight to Reveal the Heart of a Ghost, you then Need to use the Poltergust on it with R, Then while you are sucking in the Ghost you must hold both the Control Stick and C-Stick in the Opposite Direction that the Ghost in Going in.

There are two kinds of Ghost that are Different then Normal Ghost. Portrait Ghost, and Boos, With Portrait Ghosts You must Solve a Puzzle or is a Straight up Boss Battle, Boos Dont have Hearts to Reveal, and Thus you Cant go into Suction Lock Like with the Other Ghost, Boos can Escape into Other Rooms. too.

Finally there is Money as the Main collectible Which Ultimately Adds up to your final Score and Rank, There are many kinds of Valuable Objects, Coins, Dollars, Gold Bars, Small, Medium, and Large Pearls, Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds, Diamonds, Red Diamonds, and Gold Diamonds.

The Gameplay is Pretty much a Little Repetitive, Go into Room, Clear Puzzle, Defeat all Ghost in the Room, Collect Spoils, Capture the Boos, Rinse Repeat. The Game is also Pretty Short

PRESENTATION

For a Gamecube Launch Title, this Game has Aged Well. in Terms of Graphics and Music. The Game's Presentation Definitely Feels Spooky, Which Matches the Theme of "Haunted Mansion" Very Well.

The Graphics are Stunning, Even for Today's Standards, With Real-Time Lighting with Luigi's Flashlight and the Shadows in Dark Rooms look Fantastic.

The Music is Great, But it gets a little Repetitive as there is pretty much only like what? 9 Songs in Total?

THE BAD

Luigi's Mansion Suffers from Repetitiveness and does not offer much Variety, Exploring room after room and hallway after hallway only to suck up ghost after ghost becomes redundant. and with Little to no Replay Value
That and the game is pretty short, about a 5-6 Hour Adventure at least.

Thats about it.

OVERALL

Luigi's Mansion is pretty Dang good Game, with Many Memorable Moments. However due to it's Flaws only a Hardcore Fan can Enjoy it.

Luigi's Mansion gets a 3.5/5.
A Great Game for the Hardcore Fans, Casual Players should really look somewhere else for something to sink their teeth into.

And that is it for my Halloween Special. See you all Later, Bye

But did you play the hide-and-seek type luigi's mansion game on wii u?! It's multiplayer and so much fun!

Wait, there is luigi's mansion on the Wii-U?

It's not luigi's mansion, but it's a similar style hide and seek game. Players use the tv and controllers to find the ghost (player on wii pad) before the ghost spooks them all. It's pretty cool.

you mean the minigame in nintendo land? i dont have a wii u but I heard it was fun

Yes! Exactly! It's so much fun. They have a few other games like it that are fun. They should have promoted them more.

the main problem with it was that the wii u sold poorly mostly due to the terrible marketing decisions. I do think there should be a port of nintendo land on switch with new and enhanced mini-games

I think it would be fun, but i don't have a gamecube...
