TF2 Weapon of the Week: Sydney Sleeper REDUX
Today is the First time I'm Redoing a weapon, because of the Weapon being Drastically Changed in the Recent "Blue Moon" Update.
Today I'm talking about the NEW Sydney Sleeper
The Sydney Sleeper is a Primary Weapon for the Sniper
This Weapon Charges 25% Faster, Applies Jarate on the Foe, for 2 to 5 Seconds based on Charge, and If you Manage to Land a Headshot It will Reduce the Remaining Cooldown of the Jarate Secondary by 1 Second.
The only Real Downside is that Headshots Mini Crit instead of Full Crit.
So this Weapon has more of a Supportive Weapon then an offensive one, though Offense is Possible with this Weapon.
The Time that You Apply Jarate with this Weapon is Shorter then the Jarate Secondary because of how Powerful Jarate is. Jarate Basically makes all foes Covered in it take all Damage As Mini-Crits.
Instead of Doing Crit Damage on Headshots it Mini-crits instead, Making a No Charge Headshot deal 100 Damage, the only classes you will be oneshotting with a Quick Scope headshot with this is Spy with the Big Earner or a Spy with the Connivers Kunai, thankfully the Quicker Charge Time Makes up for the Headshot Damage Reduction.
And as I Said before, Jarate is Powerful. If you Manage to get a Full Charge Bodyshot on an Enemy Heavy, your Team will take no time Finishing him off Usually killing the enemy Heavy before the Jarate Wears off.
But Since you cannot Oneshot any useful Picks on your own by Quick Scoping most People will not use this thing, as people prefer to be able to completly kill an enemy Rather then Inflict a Defense Debuff on foes.
But don't get me Wrong, The Sleeper is not a Bad Weapon, it just seems Redundant when you have a Choice over a Rifle that does less Damage and inflicts a Defense Debuff on foes, or over a Rifle that can just kill any class in one shot.
Now for Other Options.
In Order to actually make use of the Mini-Crits You need to have the Jarate Secondary Equipped, Which Kinda Sucks, but it also Encourages a Very Mobile and Offensive Playstyle, Sticking Close to your Team near the Front Line and Covering the Biggest Target, and Throwing the Jarate at a Large Group of enemies.
Alternatively you can get rid of the Mini-crits on Headshot for the Cleaners Carbine, which I do not Recommend.
Finally there is the Darwins Danger Shield, which is what the Sleeper was Originally supposed to Pair with, now make's you an Anti-Pyro Nut.
For Melee Weapons, the Bushwhacka makes all Mini-Crit Melee hits Do Full Crits, which can oneshot most low-to mid Health Classes, which combos well with the Jarate Secondary.
The Tribalman's Shiv also works well with the Jarate effect, as the Bleed Damage also Mini-Crits, Mini-Crit Bleed is not to be Laughed at, and can Kill you Very Quickly.
And that is the NEW Sydney Sleeper
